2018 Mozart residency
Since the curtain was first raised, Mozart is at home at the Festival d'Aix! It’s no surprise then that the Académie has become a key training and professional development venue for vocal coaches pianists and singers wanting to develop and refine their interpretation of the Mozartian repertoire.
10 singers and 3 pianists have the opportunity to benefit from a rewarding experience with Susanna Eken, vocal professor at the Royal Danish Academy of Music and at The Royal Danish Opera. As a specialist in the Mozart repertoire and a familiar face at the Académie du Festival d’Aix, this peerless tutor engages with Mozart’s work by adopting a combined technical and physiological approach to the voice. This vocal residency is dedicated to the Austrian master and features musical work directed by vocal coaches pianists Roberta Ferrari and Bertrand Halary, and stage work by stage director and choreographer Leah Hausman.
Some work sessions (held in English) may be open to the public.
The residency will give rise to public concerts and events in June and in July, in Aix-en-Provence and the surrounding area. Educational meetings will be organised in conjunction with the Festival’s Passerelles services.
