In just a few years, the Academy has become a reference point for the contemporary repertoire. Continuing in the footsteps of the Voice and Creation Residency in 2015, this Residency will launch three world premieres, thusly honoring the founding fathers of modernity (Debussy, Stravinsky and Schoenberg). Jeff Cohen, pianist and vocal coach, will lead the 3 composers, 6 singers and 3 pianists of the residency, with the complicity of the baritone François Le Roux. This advanced session thus offers singers and pianists the opportunity to confront and contribute to new forms of writing, all while developing their knowledge of the repertoire of the twentieth century. It also gives young composers the possibility to experiment and write for voice, the springboard of opera creation. The residency is completed by drama work supervised by the choreographer Leah Hausman.
